Pregnancy Must-Haves

26 weeks along! :)

Now that I’ve been through two (well.. 1 and 2/3s to be exact) pregnancies, I wanted to share some my favorite must-have items I use almost daily (if not every single day). A lot of them are more affordable than their ‘name brand’ competitors, and as we know from having one baby already, every dollar you can save counts!

All of the products are linked at the end of this post or click here to view.

  1. Apricot oil: Starting with the product I use the most: apricot oil! This oil is more affordable than a lot of the specific ‘belly/stretch mark oils’ on the market, yet in my opinion it’s just as effective. My favorite part about it is that it’s fragrance-free and only contains one ingredient. It’s full of vitamin E and essential fatty acids which help moisturize your skin, but it can also be used on your hair! I applied it on my belly (and everywhere else stretch marks commonly appear during pregnancy) almost daily. While stretch marks are often hereditary, keeping your skin hydrated can only help!

  2. Non-maternity jumpsuit: To avoid spending over $100 on a maternity jumpsuit, I found an inexpensive one on Amazon for $18! It has the softest, stretchiest fabric that isn’t too constricting, but is cut in a flattering way.

  3. Compact wedge pillow: This option is MUCH less cumbersome than a traditional pregnancy pillow that takes up half the bed. I also found it a lot more comfortable earlier in pregnancy when you just need a little support under your bump. Placing the wedge under your belly while sleeping on your side prevents the pulling sensation and reduces pressure on your hips. I also found it really helped reduce my round ligament pain at night.

  4. Hydrating gentle cleanser: The La Roche-Posay toleraine cleanser seemed to be the ONLY thing that got rid of my hormonal breakouts. My skin becomes a lot more dry during pregnancy and especially during the winter months, so this gentle cleanser removed my makeup without overly stripping my skin or causing irritation.

  5. Compression socks: These are super helpful to minimize swelling in the second and third trimester, but you can use them even earlier if you’re on your feet a lot during the day. They’re surprisingly easy to put on and encourage circulation to prevent that feeling of pressure in your lower legs. (Though nothing helps as much as laying down with your legs up a wall :D)

  6. Comfy nursing bras: These are pretty much the only bras I wear throughout pregnancy and postpartum. They are SO much more comfortable than any other bra I’ve tried and they stretch with you, so when you go up a cup size (or 3) you don’t have to keep buying new ones.

  7. Anti-nausea chews: As most of us experience some level of pregnancy-related nausea, these ginger chews really come in handy to keep in your purse, car, etc. While a lot of ginger-flavored items can be overpowering, these have a nice sweetness and chew which makes them easier to enjoy.
